Generator Technician
Company Overview
Alliance Electric Services specializes in residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and commercial electrical work. We are seeking someone to serve as our Generator Technician. This position will oversee our fleet of generators, servicing, repairing and maintaining them year-round. This position will require on-call and weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and & inspection: Performs scheduled preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements and system inspections.
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose malfunctions, repairs and replaces defective components and electrical controls.
- Installation & Commissioning: Installs new generator systems and tests for proper integration with existing power infrastructure.
- Load Testing: Conducts load-bank testing to ensure generators handle required power demands.
- Documentation: Maintains accurate records of services, repairs and parts usage.
- Emergency Service: Responds to after-hours, weekends, holidays and/or emergency calls to restore power or troubleshoot.
- Communication: Communicates effectively and efficiently with customers and management.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
- Using multimeters, clamp meters ans megohm meter
- Trouble shooting electrical and mechanical faults
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- 2+ years experience working with generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical and electrical components; moderate computer skills preferred, but not required.

Preferred
- Ability to operate equipment such as excavators, bucket trucks, scissor lifts, backhoes and bobcats

- Must be able to comply with OSHA Standards and have the 10 hour OSHA certificate
- Experience working in an agricultural setting
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
